Simon Callaghan is a fine young British pianist whose intelligent and compelling performances have earned him a reputation as an exciting and versatile artist of the new generation.

Following his studies at Chetham’s School of Music, Simon was awarded a full scholarship to study with Yonty Solomon at the Royal College of Music, from where he graduated with first class honours and won numerous prizes.

Simon now gives solo and chamber music recitals all over the world, and has performed at venues such as Birmingham’s Symphony Hall, the Wigmore Hall and the Banff Centre in Canada. He has also broadcast on BBC Radio and appeared on ITV and BBC television. He has just released his second disc, featuring world premiere recordings of Delius’s orchestral works in arrangements for two pianos (Somm Records with Hiro Takenouchi). This follows a highly regarded CD of English piano music on the De Rode Pomp label, which received enthusiastic reviews.
